Deco Construction in Torrance
Torrance is our home base. If you are local, there is a good chance we have already worked on
your street, and we know how the city and its permits work.
About Torrance
Torrance sits right at the center of the South Bay — close to the beach cities, close to the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and close to the 405 and LAX. It is also our home city: Deco is based here, so Torrance homeowners get a local contractor who already knows the streets, the neighborhoods, and the way the city works.
A Bit of History
Torrance was founded in 1912 as a planned community, laid out with separate areas for industry and homes, and it incorporated as a city in 1921. It grew quickly through the mid-1900s, and much of the Torrance you see today — the wide residential streets and rows of single-story homes — was built during that post-war stretch
Homes in Torrance
Old Torrance, near the original townsite, has early-1900s Craftsman bungalows — solid homes with good bones that usually benefit from an updated kitchen and bath. Most of the rest of the city is 1950s and 1960s ranch-style homes on flat, rectangular lots, which is where we see the most kitchen and bath remodels and the most backyard ADU interest. Newer homes are mixed in throughout.
Permits in Torrance
Torrance has its own building and planning department, and as a Torrance-based company it is the one we work with most often. Every project still goes through its own review based on what you are building. We handle the permit process and walk you through what applies to your property.
